A Message from CEO Bill Lawton

We have a lot to be proud of as member-owners of Community Financial Credit Union. As a not-for-profit financial cooperative, we are having a significant impact on our communities. Our volunteer board of directors, elected by our membership, makes sure that “Community Financial exists so consumers and businesses in our field of membership can enjoy sound financial health, and our communities are enriched.”

Our 2012 results show that we have successfully delivered on our board’s promise. Thanks to the efforts of our team, we achieved our highest service ratings ever based on member feedback. Our dedication to putting the needs of our membership and community first resulted in strong membership, checking account and loan growth. We continue to ensure that money saved by our members is responsibly loaned to other members in our communities. Our members borrow together and save together.

In 2012, we were able to make more contributions to community-focused organizations than ever before. We also partnered with over 35 schools to help youth understand basic financial concepts, thrift, and the Credit Union philosophy through our student-run credit union and junior achievement programs.

Community Financial Credit Union continues to evolve over time. In 2012, we implemented mobile banking to make accessing your accounts even easier. We also converted from a federally chartered credit union to a state chartered credit union in order better serve our existing communities and to be positioned to serve additional communities in the future. As a member of a state chartered credit union, your savings are still federally insured.

As a member-owner you make this all possible and I hope in addition to being pleased with the service you receive, you also feel a sense of pride in being part of a very special cooperative that is changing lives and building stronger communities.
