Together We Are Stronger

loading... The word “community” is not only in our name, but it is the core of what we do. We know that we wouldn’t exist without our members and the communities in which they live. Helping nonprofits, educational, and community groups is part of our culture. We believe these groups have a tremendous impact on the communities we serve and it’s both our responsibility and pleasure to support them.

Supporting Our Nonprofits

loading...Community Financial cares about its members and the communities it serves. That’s why we are proud to support nonprofit organizations that assist our communities in a variety of ways. Through our annual Summer of Sharing program and Warming Hearts & Homes campaign, we are able to assist local groups that help build stronger communities.

Partnering With Schools

loading...At Community Financial we believe that educating our youth on financial education determines the success of our future. We are proud to support every level of education across northern and southeast Michigan. From scholarships to financial education, we strive to engage students in local schools and teach them good money habits that will last throughout their lifetime.

Outreach Impact

loading...Community Financial team members are the heart of our credit union. They not only strive to provide our members with outstanding service, but also dedicate themselves to enhance the communities in which they serve. During the 2014 year, our team members donated over 2,400 volunteer hours to our local communities. We also donated $277,000 to our local communities.

We are proud of our “People Helping People” philosophy at Community Financial. We are excited to enhance our communities not just as a business organization, but also as parents, neighbors, community activists and engaged citizens.

2014: A Year in Review

Thanks to continued growth and strong member loyalty, 2014 was another outstanding year for Community Financial. We continued to see a strong increase in membership and again saw our high member satisfaction ratings.

These factors led to solid financial results, with all areas of credit union operations performing well in 2014. Net income for the year was $7,340,585 or a 1.28% return on assets. We expect to achieve a positive net income of $5.1 million in 2015 due in part to the benefits of operating in the current interest rate environment and stabilized loan losses.  read more . . .
